November 26th, 8pm through November 27th, midnight

The WAC will be sponsoring the AA Alkathon over Thanksgiving from Wednesday, November 26th at 8pm until Thursday, November 27th through midnight.  Wednesday we'll have free pizza at 7:30pm and an open talk at 8pm.  There will be meetings every two hours throughout the Alkathon and on Thursday we'll be watching the Lions play at 12:30 and enjoying Thanksgiving Dinner starting at 1:00pm so if you would like, bring a dish to pass.  Come celebrate the miracle that is recovery, enjoy football, have some food, catch a Movie Marathon, and the fellowship of AA.

Alkathons - What are they?

Holiday Alkathons are events where we gather on holidays (typically Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve/Day) for marathon meetings, food, and fellowship. The holidays can be a particularly difficult time of year for many alcoholics, and alkathons help provide a safe, sober place to celebrate.

At the WAC, meetings are held every two hours during an Alkathon, and typically for a full 24 hours.  Each meeting is sponsored by an AA Meeting Group (like the Saturday Morning Womens and Mens Meetings for example).  Part of your financial contributions during these meetings go to help the Huron Valley Area Intergroup.  Watch this site for announcements on upcoming Alkathons and what's going on !
